For more than 50 years, the Vlasic manufacturing plant in Imlay
City has been crafting quality pickles loved throughout America.
In 2012, Pinnacle Foods Inc., the owner of Vlasic, decided to
consolidate all of its pickle production at its manufacturing facility
in Imlay City. The expansion added approximately 29 full-time jobs
and another 500 seasonal jobs during the peak summer production season.
“We’re thrilled to be expanding in the Imlay City community, providing Imlay City and the great state of Michigan with more employment opportunities,” said Gary Lauber, Plant Manager of Pinnacle Foods’ Imlay City facility.
Several organizations and opportunities played a role in helping the expansion go smoothly, according to Tony Fernandez, Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer. “We’re grateful for the support of the SEED Group, the Lapeer Development Corporation, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, as well as the tax incentives made available through Imlay City and the I-69 Next Michigan Development Corporation. We look forward to continuing the Vlasic tradition in Imlay City and to long-term success in the greater Imlay area.”
